Zardari shoe-hurling game introduced on Internet

ISLAMABAD – A day after the incident of shoe hurling at President Asif Ali Zardari in UK on August 7, an Internet game ‘Zardari Shoe Game’ has been introduced.

“Play Asif Ali Zardari Game….! Hit Shoes. Throw the shoe at Asif Ali Zardari – see how many times you can hit him!”, written in the introduction of the game. The game has apparently been launched on DecentSMS.com, which is an Entertainment & Information portal of Mobile Phones containing huge archive of sms text messages shared by millions of users worldwide. There are three different stages in the game.

On hitting the shoe at the right target, which is the animation of Asif Ali Zardari, the user or player gets scores. Moreover, the game also sh-ows the animation of former Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sherry Rehman sitting with the animated President. In the third and last stage, a building labelled ‘ 9 zero’ is also shown.

It is to be mentioned here that the incident of hurling sho-es at President Asif Ali Zardari took place on August 7, 2010, when he was addressing a rally in UK. Almost all the national and international media reported the incident. However the Government of Pakistan has been denying any such incident.

Earlier the former US President Bush had also to face such embarrassment, when a shoe-hurling incident took place with him in Iraq during his visit. At that time a similar game was launched on the Internet in which the player was supposed to hurl a shoe towards animated US president while the animated kept from right to left.

A wake up call

IBN-E-REHMAT:
Individual or national dreams can only be built with planning and right course of actions. If someone is keen to build a house, he will first think about the budget, determine the location to buy a plot, its size, design, covered area, choice of the contractors etc. His list may have several questions, some of them even riddled with fears about the dirty business tricks, official bottlenecks and finally his string of decisions. Similarly in the politics of hostility, the enemy prepares its master plan, based on his objectives, followed by the course of actions to execute all the tasks. But secret war demands a different set of action, stitched with bits and pieces, without being conspicuous, to ensure complete secrecy not to be intercepted or catching the attention of the intelligence.

This list may include such jobs which ultimately converge on a one-point agenda like the disintegration of Pakistan by first fomenting insurgencies, generating economic turmoil, tightening the noose around the necks of peoples of certain communities, to trigger a chain action, as recipe of an invisible warfare. If we prepare the list of all such tasks, it might run into hundreds. An intrigue, India played in former East Pakistan. Now Balochistan, Swat and FATA are its targets. Has our counterintelligence failed to detect? But our masses need to be educated. The purpose of this exercise is to highlight just one or two such moves to create awareness about the times to come. How one stroke by the enemy like the water issue can open up a Pandora’s Box for many other troubles – leading to the collapse of the whole edifice of our polity?

The list of such dirty acts by India to inflict harm to our dear country is quite long. If we sit and meditate all the mischief which the enemy has planned and executed during the last three years, it might require many volumes, to assess losses of human life and property during the suicide bombings, and the burning and looting spree in various parts of the country. Still worse, it (the enemy) might have even shifted the blame on some other country to avoid international condemnation. To start with the simple proposition, let us first start with the political dynamic that engulfed the business nerve centre of Pakistan, Karachi, a couple of weeks ago, as target killings helps the enemy to create chaos, an unfavourable climate for investment and inflict heavy losses beyond anybody’s guess. At the same time, it has also generated mistrust and eliminated the people, who our foes regarded as obstacles in their jobs.

At the same time, the list of any country’s vulnerability is also long. But the tragedy is that New Delhi intends to spare no event to cause as much damage as it could. There is no comparison between the loss of human life and property that Pakistan has had to sustain as a result of Indian machinations and the Indian claims in the Mumbai mayhem. Nobody can deny the fact that blowing up trains, setting public property on fire, target killing of innocent civilians and playing havoc with the security personnel is not the handiwork of any Pakistani, but the enemy’s agents.

China — the all time superpower

Ali Sukhanver

Fortunes and misfortunes always go side by side. Pakistan is fortunate enough to have a friend like China as a neighbour but unfortunate to have a neighbour like India who never desires for stability and prosperity of Pakistan. The Pakistanis must be thankful to God for making China its neighbour because the situation could have been much painful for them if there were no China in the region. Pak-China friendship is time -tested and progressing by leaps and bounds every moment. Unluckily this friendship is proving itself much agonizing for those countries which dream of ruling this region on the basis of economic and political exploitation. This close cordial relationship between Pakistan and China has always been a target for such countries.

According to the reports the US authorities and other western countries always feel uneasy when they find the exemplary friendship between the two countries going ‘higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the ocean’. That is the reason they always try to create hitches and hurdles between the friendly relations of Pakistan and China. It is also said that the USA is providing nuclear support to India just to counter the increasing influence of China in the region. USA is very well aware of the fact that China is the only country which has a capability of giving tough time to it and this capability shall certainly increase manifold if Pakistan keeps on strengthening its relations with China. That is why there have been so many efforts to create misunderstandings between Pakistan and China. When we cast a look at the past ten years we find a long list of Chinese workers who lost their lives while working at different development projects in Pakistan. The terrorists targeted these Chinese workers simply to alarm and warn the Government of China that it must not send its workers to Pakistan. But in spite of all these threats China never backed out of its determination to make Pakistan strong and prosperous. Be it the Karakorum highway project or the Gawadar Port Plan, the heavy water reactor at Khusab or the manufacturing of JF-17-Thunder Air Crafts , China is always there to support Pakistan. The friendship between the two countries is becoming even stronger as time goes by.

Pak–China relations began in 1950 when Pakistan was among the first countries to recognise the People’s Republic of China. In 1962, the worsening Indo-China relationship turned into a series of hostility. That time Pakistan’ proved itself a very strong well-wisher of China by providing it all type of favour. It would not be an exaggeration if we call 1962, the title page of the story of love and friendship between these two countries. Since then this relationship is becoming stronger and stronger resulting in a variety of agreements of economic, military and technical assistance. The Pak-China friendship is a two-way journey. The whole of the Chinese nation is thankful to the people of Pakistan for their precious support on issues concerning China’s sovereignty, such as Taiwan, and Tibet. The Chinese leadership has always acknowledged the significant role of Pakistan in the early 1970s, which enabled China to break its isolation from the West and the US. Pakistan also helped China become a member for the United Nations. Pakistan has always played an effective role in bringing the Muslim world closer to China.

On the other hand China has always proved itself a very strong support to Pakistan through every time of trial and tribulation. The people of Pakistan can never forget the role of China during Pakistan-Indian tensions in 2008.That was the time when the Chinese leaders very openly promised unlimited financial and military aid to Pakistan. There could have been a very serious type of nuclear war if China were not there to support Pakistan. Above all, China has always provided a very staunch support to the Pakistani stance regarding the Kashmir issue. This affectionate assistance is something very positive for the people of Pakistan but very much discouraging to those who desire and plan for a weaker Pakistan. The countries like India are doing their best to dispel the clouds of vagueness and ambiguity between the two friendly countries. Recently it has been reported that the agents of Raw are trying to invade Xinjiang, the Chinese border province, in the guise of Islamic extremists. The RAW has provided them fake Pakistani identities. These agents are directed to create law and order disturbance in the peaceful land of Xinjiang. Most of these agents are the Hindus by creed but they are so well trained that it would be very much difficult to recognise their actual identity. According to the details some of these agents would intentionally surrender them before the security forces of China after being involved in some act of terrorism. The only purpose behind is to give the Chinese government an impression that Pakistan is trying to promote religious extremism in Xinjiang. Read more of this post

The History of Information

We shall stand or fall by television – of that I am sure.

Introduction

The Age in which we live has quite appropriately been referred to as the Information Age. We live in a time unimaginable just 100 short years ago; a time when we can communicate across the globe in real time via pulses of light; a time when we can send copies of documents to a distant office as we travel on the highway; a time of microwaves, fax machines, advanced medical imaging, cellular and digital phones, pagers, hand-held computers, the internet, and much much more.

Certainly, in many respects, we can look at these times with awe, bewilderment, and excitement. But do we ever stop to view our technological advancements in an historical context? Do we ever ask ourselves what effects these things have, not only on our lives in general, but even our very basic precepts; our concepts of time, information, and purpose? The answer is an emphatic NO. No, we do not.

In fact, because we live in such a fast-paced age, we often fail to realize that these questions even need asking. At one moment we see cachectic children starving in Iraq and within an instant we see a soap commercial. And then we see women in Bosnia crying about seeing their husbands killed or their daughters raped, which of course, is followed by an ad for the next episode of Home Improvement. Subconsciously, this fragments our worldview. We are unaware of what is cause and what is effect. We begin to ask questions of “how” and “what” rather than “why”. Ultimately we become ahistorical, rarely noting one event’s connection with another. Read more of this post
