1- 4th ODI – Umar gul being called for no ball = free hit…..thats possibly 7 extra runs.

2- 3rd ODI – Afridi being referred after being originally given not out…..Afridi could have made a big difference in that innings as we all know.He was 34(29). Pakistan were 185-6 and had 11 overs to go and no power play taken. pakistan only made 242 in the end.

3- 3rd ODI – Luke Wright given not out stumped – england were 178-5 at that stage with only another 64 needed. Wright finished on 48 not out.

4- 1st ODI – Trott was on 26 when Billy Doctrove missed an edge of Ajmal – He went on to make 69.

5- 2nd ODI – Strauss Nicked Umar Gul, Caught by Kamran Akmal – 38* at the time – Strauss went on to make 126 and win England the match.

6- 5th ODI – Collingwood LBW B gul – England 150-4 Key Position in the match – England went on to make 256, Collingwood finishing on 47.

7- 5th ODI – Doctrove calling Shoaib for a wide (hilarious) – penalty one run against Shoaibs Name (could be costly later on in life when pundits mull over strike rates etc)

8- 2nd ODI – Afridi LBW not given against Trott – Trott finished on 53. score went from 114-1 to 189 before he got out.

9- 2nd ODI – Hafeez LBW not give against Trott – Didnt cost anything for once as prat got himself run out on the same ball.

10- 3rd ODI – Mohammed Yousuf LBW – FLAT Batting Track – given out on 16 off 22…..who knows what would have happened had he stayed. Pakistan only made 241.

11- 5th ODI – Kamran Akmal given LBW – The Ball clearly hit the bat. He made 41(53), Score was 80-2 off 18 overs chasing 256… Batsman was set.

12- 4th ODI – Strauss Plumb LBW to Hafeez not given. Strauss was on 41. Went on to make 68.

13- 2nd ODI – Kamran Akmal given out LBW on 74(72). Benefit of doubt should have been given. too close a decision to call. Pakistan were on 122-0 (22 Overs)

According to all dictionaries of English language, ‘raw ‘means crude and coarse, unprocessed and untreated; these meanings seem very much close to reality when we look at the working of the world famous intelligence agency RAW. The name coined for it very truly matches the accurate meanings of the word. Raw has very surprisingly succeeded in getting the record of the telephonic conversation between the ISI chief General Ahmed Shuja Pasha and President Karzai of Afghanistan. During this telephonic conversation, Gen. Pasha tried to convince the Afghan president to curtail the Indian involvement in Afghanistan. Gen. Pasha promised to smooth the way for negotiations between the Taliban and the Afghan government if Karzai cooperates in this context.

RAW’s claim to trace the conversation between Karzai and Gen. Pasha is the best example of RAW’s ‘unbelievable and astonishing’ working. However this ‘Breaking News’ could have been more credible and fascinating if it were supported by authentic proofs which are yet awaited. RAW high-ups must speed up the process of proof finding in this respect other wise this ‘research’ of Raw would be taken as much non-serious and childish as that of the Mumbai blasts. The question arises why did RAW spend a lot of its precious resources and valuable time on tracing the conversation details of the telephonic talks between Gen. Pasha and president Karzai if it ever happened as reported by RAW. Whatever General Pasha said to Mr. Karzai must not be a hidden reality. If there were any conversation of this type, he might have simply conveyed the policy and demand of the government of Pakistan. Everyone knows that Pakistan has its own reservations regarding the increasing influence of India in Afghanistan. Since the very first day of the NATO forces in Afghanistan, Pakistan is of the opinion that the situation would never be bettered if India is given a free hand in Afghanistan because a long lasting peace in Afghanistan is not in favour of India. In the name of different development projects India is sending agents of its different intelligence agencies in Afghanistan. Even the staff of the Indian consulates in Afghanistan constitutes of the RAW agents. With the help of these consulates India is providing monetary as well as military support to the terrorist groups working in the tribal areas of Pakistan. During the operations against the miscreants in Swat and other afflicted areas Pakistan army has recovered a lot of weapons with Indian mark on them. Same is the case with the diaries which were found in the possession of different arrested miscreants. The pages of these diaries indicated a very clear cut involvement of Raw Agents in worsening the law and order situation in these areas. These are the reasons for which Pakistan is always worried about the increasing involvement of India in Afghanistan. If Gen. Pasha has ever talked to Mr. Karzai on this issue, he has committed no crime. Being the chief of ISI, what else one can expect of him. He heads a department whose sole responsibility is to take care of the interests of Pakistan on every front.

Incessant targeting of Pakistan

The US duplicity in its dealings with Pakistan continues unabated and I have always maintained that the scale of their enterprise in destabilising Pakistan can only be understood by finding linkages in seemingly unconnected events and publications. Just when the Pakistan military has taken a strong position on its military operations in FATA and the pull towards dialogue with the tribals is becoming evident, the US subversive activities against Pakistan are becoming more overt, and old CIA connections are taking centre stage again including so-called “experts” on Pakistan! Let us look at some recent developments and see the linkages.

First, after incessant cries from ignorant US officials and even more ignorant but imperialist minded media, of Pakistan not doing enough against Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, when the Pakistanis captured a leading Taliban commander, suddenly the Americans – and their media and officialdom do have close connections – through their media led forth a new chant of why Pakistan had arrested this man! There were conspiracy theories that immediately began floating that somehow Pakistan arrested this Taliban commander to disrupt the dialogue that Karzai is seeking with the Taliban because Pakistan wants to remain in control of any such dialogue. Talk about bizarre assumptions! So, as some of us have always maintained, in the eyes of the US, Pakistanis will always find themselves in a position of “damned if we do and damned if we don’t.” It is time therefore to wash our hands off this whole US-led misguided “war on terror” and evolve our own strategies to deal with our own problem of violence and extremism which is multidimensional and cannot be straitjacketed into merely a Taliban framework.

Nor is this all. A new campaign has begun in the US, published first in the Wall Street Journal where two American lawyers, David Rivkin and Lee Casey – both of whom served in the Justice Department during the Reagan and George Bush administrations – have accused Pakistan’s Chief Justice Chaudhry of being “the leading culprit in an unfolding constitutional drama.” Supporting Zardari, the lawyers make all manner of unsubstantiated accusations against Pakistan’s chief justice. What seems to have upset these Americans is the CJ’s popularity being far greater than Zardari’s in the eyes of the Pakistani people – by their own admission! But then the American anger at the CJ is understandable because he has fought the cause of the Pakistani people especially through the Missing Persons issue – many sold to the US – while President Zardari and his loyalists have continued to plead the US cause. But it should be unacceptable to any self-respecting Pakistani to have their CJ referred to in such a derogatory fashion. Look how Holbrooke reacted when Pakistanis protested at the miscarriage of justice in New York in the Dr Aafia case, despite the fact that the US has a record of such miscarriages of justice against African Americans and minorities, especially Muslims post 9/11.

A third line of attack is the revival of the Baloch separatist issue with that old Pakistan basher Selig Harrison reviving his fortunes again and taking the lead in targeting the Pakistani state. He first took up this passion when the Soviets went into Afghanistan and led the chorus of how Pakistan was not doing enough of the US bidding in Afghanistan. He was an “Afghan” expert at the time but once Afghanistan receded into the background he became a “Balochistan” expert and now he is deeply involved in aiding Baloch separatists in Iran and Pakistan. Various platforms have been used by him and the latest is the ongoing conference in Bangkok, Thailand, supposedly sponsored by an unknown group calling themselves the Baloch Voice Foundation (BVF) and supported by the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) based in The Hague and, of course, Selig Harrison! The BVF interestingly is funded by the Washington-based Jamestown Foundation which, according to information available on the internet, is controlled by Freedom House which in turn is linked to the CIA.

Pakistan is being blamed for Mumbai attacks and is under immense international pressure to take action against the culprits. Islamabad is trying its level best to sustain international pressure as it hasn’t got much choice to fulfill the demand such as ‘to call a chicken a monster’. Despite the fact that cases against those blamed for Mumbai attacks are still pending in Pakistani courts, New Delhi is pressurizing Pakistan to take action against those suspected to be involved in the attacks. One wonders, what will happen if innocence of these people is proved in the court. One suspects that in such a case India is not going to accept the court’s verdict. On the contrary, it is beyond comprehension that why Ajmal Amir Kasab has not been put on the gallows by now, when India claims to have been in possession of solid evidences. Despite the passage of around one year and three months, India is unable to take action against Kasab, who as claimed by India was caught red handed. However, New Delhi is expecting from Pakistan to eliminate everyone who is suspected by India to be involved in Mumbai attacks.

Much before the incident of November 26, Mumbai attacks, US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had been trying to convince New Delhi that Pakistan is planning to attack India through its network of terrorists. Ironically, at the same time Islamabad was also tipped about possible attack on its nuclear facilities by New Delhi. Top CIA officials killed during Mumbai attacks had in fact assembled in Mumbai to chalk out plans to counter their own sponsored terror attacks from Pakistan, when November 26 attacks actually took place. Mumbai attacks fell as a surprise for the intelligence bosses at Washington because the timings of the attacks did not correspond with CIA’s plans. The network of US intelligence agents in India and Pakistan were surprised too as their own plan fell flat on them due to the premature action by fellow agents. There were many unanswered questions such as; are there groups within CIA? Whether CIA agents like David Coleman Headley betrayed the agency? If we follow the events that occurred during and after the Mumbai attacks, we can easily reach the true story behind the grand conspiracy. Without going into details of numerous links, being outside the scope of this article, CIA recruitment of disgruntle and criminal elements of the target countries is centuries old modus operandai which has now become an open secret.

Aftermath Mumbai attacks, CIA and Indian intelligence agencies started claiming that two Pakistani origin US nationals namely David Coleman Headley alias Daood Syed Gilani and Tahawwur Hussain Rana are the main culprits involved in Mumbai attacks. In order to reach the truth, we need to go into the background. As per the details Headley was born in Washington. His father was a US national of Pakistani origin namely Syed Salim Gilani while his mother was pure American namely Serril Headley. After the birth of Headley and his younger sister, the family moved to Pakistan. In 1970 Headley parents divorced and his mother returned to the US and opened a liquor bar in Philadelphia “Khyber Pass Pub.” Father of Headley kept his son and daughter with him and educated them in one of the best institutions. Headley also got an opportunity to study at Cadet College, Hassanabdal from where he completed his Matric (1974-1977). As soon as Headley attained the age of 18 years, her mother Serril Headley took legal measures as well as exerted pressure on Headley to move to US.

Accordingly, Headley moved to US and started living in Philadelphia with his mother. Being exposed to liquor, prostitution and other vices of the West in the bar run by his mother, Headley started taking heavy dozes of alcohol and drugs including Heroin. Over all these years, Headley not only become a drug addict but also got engaged in its trafficking. According to US Court record, he was caught red handed carrying heroin in 1989 and charged with conspiracy to smuggle/import the drug. According to court record, he was again arrested in 1994 on drug charges and was imprisoned for 15 months. Later he started working for FBI, CIA as well as US Drug Enforcement Administration and was tasked to penetrate into Muslim communities. After September 11 attacks (9/11) on US highly secure Pentagon and world Trade Centre, CIA brainwashed him and tasked him to look for elements of Al-Qaida and other hostile groups in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.

An Open Letter To The Pakistani Media – How Far Will You Go?

Dr. Mahru Khalid | As I sit in my room writing this, I can hear Indian music playing on the television outside. I know that it is a Pakistani channel,and I can hear snatches of people singing praises of how wonderful Indian music and artists are. It has been going on for the last2 hours and may as well go on for another 2. This is what I have come to expect from my country’s media.

I refuse to go outside and watch that. Because, you see, I’m more intrigued by a news channel telling us how truckloads of Indian ammunition are being discovered by the Pak army in South Waziristan, by someone revealing how the Takfiri TTP are being financed by Indo-American (and other foreign) forces, and how names like Blackwater, Xe, DynaCorp., are raising their ugly heads andinfiltrating into the Pakistani society. Rather than watching Indian movies, I’m more entertained when I go on the internet and readstories of how Mumbai investigator Mr. Hemant Karkare was silenced forever because he could have spilled the beans that Mumbai was an inside job, how the militants who carried out that attack had stayed at a guest house called Nariman House for several days before the attack, and where they were provided food, ammunition, and arms in full knowledge of the Mumbai police, how the 40,000 strong Mumbai police was deliberately kept away from the scene of the shooting, as the terrorists went about their merry way killing people. All this from the pen of a respected Indian writer, Mr. Amaresh Mishra, for me, beats the most smoothly done Indian movieanyday!

I haven’t forgotten 26/11, and its aftermath, when your Indian counterparts didn’t bother to think rationally for a second, and pointed the finger squarely at us, how they threatened people like Adnan Sami Khan to leave or suffer the consequences, how Pakistani contestants were ejected from TV shows. I haven’t forgotten how united the Indian media and people were in their hate, or how vocal the media was with its hate-filled remarks, which were sometimes shocking in their intensity, and all on the basis of mere suspicion. And then, with much regret, I haven’t forgotten the insensitive way you responded to this outburst. Some of you even went as faras to claim that Ajmal Qasab is indeed a Pakistani citizen from Faridkot, a claim that has now been refuted by Qasab himself.

And now, a year later, I see my own country bleeding like it has never bled before. I remember the horror of Marriott, the shock of Lahore’s attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, the valour of the Shaheeds of Swat and Waziristan. This nation will never forget the innocent Shaheeds of GHQ, Peshawar, Parade Lane, Moon Market, and so many other places. Our innocent brothers, sisters, sons, daughters were this nation’s wealth, they were a part of its future, and a legacy of its past. We have lost some of our gems, but we will never lose the will to avenge each and every drop of innocent blood.

Now I ask you, Pakistani media, do you not see who is behind all this? Don’t the daily deaths mean anything to you? Do you not seethe huge gaping wound? I want to ask you, how far will you go in this Indian admiration of yours? I see morning shows competing with each other in getting the biggest Indian star on the show. I change the channel and I see a senseless but box-office rich Indian movie being shown. I go further and I see barely clad women dancing in a spot advertising the latest Indian awards. Can you not see anything beyond the mindlessness of Indian entertainment?

Can you see that they are out to destroy us from within, to eat our society up like termites eat wood? I can almost imagine them wringing their hands with contentment at our political and moral degradation, at how they maneuvered things until we were deprived of hosting any cricketing event on our soil. Why don’t you admire the smooth precision with which they accomplished these ugly goals?

Your silence is deafening, your silence on this geo-political war being waged on Pakistan, your silence when Ajmal Qasab said he’s just an Indian being directed in the greatest Indian drama ever played, your silence on the menacing involvement of Indian intelligence agencies in supporting terrorism in Pakistan. Your silence is truly deafening. Instead, you seem smitten by the very forces who want to see Pakistan on its knees.

Will you still go on dancing to their tunes? Will you still go on leading the people of this nation further into fools’ paradise? I just wonder, how far will you go? -> Pakalert
